Complaint: | Complaint 18-04 |
---|---|
Respondent: | Austin Stitzer |
Premises: | Ironwood Animal Hospital |
The complainants take their dog to Stitzer's clinic with seizures and they're prescribed Keppra and trazadone. They say they got cross-examined on the trazadone refill, then had problems getting the clinic to arrange the Keppra refill and discovered the clinic was short. The complainant says that they would have preferred a paper prescription but agreed to pay full price for the available stock and would come back later to get the rest. She concludes by saying that it took a month for them to call about the rest of the pills, and that on a previous occasion they had similar issues paying for rush results on a test that took days to come back.
Stitzer, the responsible veterinarian, delegates the response to Tina Cloud, the hospital manager. She says they offered a written prescription but were turned down and that the complainant was contacted several times but never returned their call. She also says that the complainant never paid for any stat test results. She complains that the complainant's reaction was uncalled for and slandered her hospital on social media.
The Investigative Committee concluded that the complainant was called about the refills because the records at Stitzer's hospital say they were. They also said that because both the complainant and her spouse were communicating with the clinic there may have been a communication problem at home.
