The complainant with the sick cat from the dental gets angry and is asked to be nice or leave

Complaint: Complaint 18-22
Respondent: Alicia Bruchman
Premises: Continental Animal Wellness Center
Related: 18-21

Bruchman saw the cat from 18-21 when he came back with problems. In fact, she was stepping into Maciulla's shoes in more ways than one, as she was the proud new owner of the whole practice.

Based on her statement, Bruchman's involvement seems to come into play after a Midwestern University student working at the facility managed to play phone tag with the complainant and chalk the cat's problems up to a potential medication side-effect. The next day the clinic was open the complainant was already there with her cat. According to Brachman, the the complainant was very abusive to the staff and yelling at them about her cat not doing well. She found that the cat had nasal discharge and mucus, identified a new heart murmur, and an upper respiratory infection. The cat was given antibiotics and then discharged with a bag of saline as the complainant said she could give saline solution at home with her own equipment. She later learned from the other veterinary clinic in town that the cat had been euthanized.

The Investigative Committee found no violations and said Brachman did the best she could, what with being caught in the middle between Maciulla and the complainant and all.

Among other notes, the Committee states that the complainant declined fluids and elected to administer them at home (regarding the saline); she declined them in the clinical setting, not declining them altogether.
