A rescue dog gets returned and then dies over what may or may not have been parvo

Complaint: Complaint 18-37
Respondent: Kimberly Collins
Premises: Seville Veterinary Hospital

The complainants adopted a new dog from LuluBelle Rescue. The dog got sick, so the complainants took it to Collins. Collins diagnosed an upper respiratory disease, allergies, and fecal parasites but the dog continued to decline. The complainants took the dog to BluePearl, and the veterinarian suspected parvovirus. They then gave the dog back to the rescue. The dog later died, and the complainants felt that Collins misdiagnosed the dog.

Collins says that at the time there was no indication of parvovirus. She details the care provided as well as other findings that weren't related to parvo.

The Investigative Committee said that the dog had no signs of parvovirus when Collins examined the dog. They also say it may not even have been parvo because the complainants returned the dog to the rescue rather than having BluePearl run more tests.
