A dog gets diagnosed with valley fever in surgery and a complainant has questions: Part II

Complaint: Complaint 18-50
Respondent: Bradford Dixon
Premises: Southwest Veterinary Surgical Service
Related: 18-49

This complaint is a follow-up from 18-49. Dixon is the practice owner and responsible veterinarian for the premises.

Dixon states that he wasn't the veterinarian there that day. He also states that the estimates provided differ because two different computer systems were used by two different people at the two different practices. Therefore the total came up higher the day of surgery than on the day of the exam. He emphatically states it's not the result of crooked billing practices and that the complainants only considered it unethical once they requested a refund; he says the complainants left the dog for the surgery so they must not have had any concerns that day. Dixon says Steurer should be commended for his work as he believes even the best of surgeons would have not noticed any problem and just proceeded with the TPLO that day.

The Investigative Committee said that it was just an issue about money and chalked the different estimates up to a mere adminstrative error.
