This complaint follows from 18-23 and the complaint regarding a bait-and-switch trip to the poor side of town for an eye checkup. The complainant filed a complaint regarding what she felt was a bait-and-switch by Eye Care for Animals, also mentioning very significant concerns she had about the state of the Phoenix location. She then states that Urbanz, the original veterinarian from Scottsdale (and one that the complainant had spoken highly of in the previous complaint), called her shortly before the originally scheduled checkup and canceled on her.
Urbanz provides a short response stating that the complainant was hostile and abusive to her staff, and therefore she would not see the complainant or her dog again. She said that another veterinarian at the facility, Norman, would be willing to see the complainant and her dog. She does not provide an explanation regarding the complainant's concern about the late warning about the cancelation.
This complaint never went to an Investigative Committee. Facts were collected by the Investigative Division and sent directly to the Board, where the complaint was dismissed with no violation.
It is interesting to note that in 18-23 the Investigative Committee discussion mentions that the complainant could file a complaint about Urbanz canceling the appointment after the original complaint was filed. Apparently, she did and then nothing happened with that one either.
