A dog gets marked for death at two referral centers but poops out an apricot pit and lives: Part III

Complaint: Complaint 18-92
Respondent: Kimberly Olson
Premises: VCA Valley Animal Hospital
Related: 18-90, 18-91, 18-93

This complaint follows from 18-90 and specifically relates to Olson's involvement.

Olson begins by stating that she never spoke with the complainant directly. Rather, she spoke with the complainant's son and says that any claim she ever spoke with the complainant was inaccurate. She also details the interventions taken when the dog was found to be low on oxygen. She disputes the claim that she told him that they could either spend $1500 or let the dog die; rather, she says she spoke to his son and said that humane euthanasia was an option if they could no longer continue the aggressive supportive care being provided. She also wants us to know, agreeing with her colleagues, that this case was very very hard. She also says that she feels proud of the care they provided to save the dog. She feels disappointed that the complainant feels they did a bad job despite all the hours spent talking to him and the family. She also says that in "today's criticisms of Veterinary [sic] medicine, being compared to an untrustworthy car mechanic is not appreciated."

The Investigative Committee discussion appears to be a copy from 18-90.
