A referral center cuts on a dog and later gives him a blood thinner instead of gabapentin: Part II

Complaint: Complaint 20-17
Respondent: Stephanie Foote
Premises: VetMed
Related: 20-16

This is the same complaint as 20-16 but pertains to Foote's duties as the responsible veterinarian at VetMed.

Foote's response is only a paragraph. She says that she was of the understanding that the dog was doing well and that the complainant had left without complaint. She said that she spoke with Owen and Owen decided to reach out to the complainant. She says that she spoke directly with the complainant after the complainant sent her a registered letter asking for $5000 to settle the matter, and had not had any communication with her since. She says to refer to the enclosed communications (which we don't have access to).

The Investigative Committee writeup is a copy of the one from 20-16. Oddly enough, these are basically the same case against the same hospital, just with one referencing the surgeon and the other referencing the responsible veterinarian. Yet Carolyn Ratajack recused herself on this one (Foote) but didn't recuse herself on the related one (Owen), even though these two must have been handled together. (Note that it doesn't say that she was absent, but that she actually abstained.)
