A somewhat inconsistent Facebook post on pet discipline attracts the thought police

Complaint: Complaint 22-133
Respondent: Debbie Chapman
Premises: Desert Cross Veterinary Hospital

The complainant sends a Facebook post of Chapman's, saying that he hopes "you consider this diatribe unacceptable." He claims that Chapman is currently on probation from complaint 21-53 (in which she got nailed on a relatively minor violation after an initial finding of gross negligence for leaving an unattended patient alone to die).

The Facebook post is included in the complaint, so you can read it there. The main thrust is that many veterinarians are becoming concerned about the bite risks from large breed dogs, and that some of them are considering not seeing larger breeds at all, while others are going to "fire" clients who have poorly-behaved, growly, or bitey dogs. She says that it's the public's fault for not training and disciplining the dogs correctly, leading to them thinking they're in charge; she's concerned for the dog's prognosis if the dog can't be well-behaved. In one paragraph she states that "Dogs are NOT children or humans and we need to stop treating them like they are. They are animals!" and explains how mommy dogs deal with it if you're a "little shit of a dog." Confusingly, after saying they're not children, her next paragraph says "Dogs need discipline! They are like your kids!" (One actually sympathizes with what she's trying to say, but perhaps she's not the best person to say it.)

Chapman says she's never even heard of this guy, and she also correctly notes that she's not on probation; her license is in good standing.

This is an Investigative Division report so there's no committee to be seen.
