Respondent: | Brandi Stanley |
Premises: | VCA Apache Animal Hospital |
Related: | 22-139 |
This complaint follows as part of the same events as 22-139. The respondent here appears to be the veterinary technician the complainant had interactions with when he brought the dog back for a recheck on the incision site.
Stanley's response says that the complainant assumed microchip placement and dewclaw removal were covered under the Care Club. They were not, so he opted out of them. The dog was sent home and she relates that the complainant even thanked him for it. She also states that she repeatedly warned him that the dog needed to be kept calm and keep the e-collar on; the complainant said that he was aware as he'd had other pets have the same procedure. She concludes with the photo and triage of the incision site, including recommendations for additional trazadone and bringing the dog in for a check with Denney (another VCA veterinarian).
The Investigative Committee waved it all away and said that the complainant was just going through the medical records and trying to find names to file complaints against. Note that this is the same complainant who, in the previous complaint (22-139), was also commended for his honesty in admitting the dog licked the incision site. Perhaps a more charitable read would be that Stanley was the person he had interacted with at VCA and so filed the complaint against her rather than unseen veterinarians.
