A complainant alleges records alterations and hiding of necropsy reports after puppies die

Complaint: Complaint 22-75
Respondent: Larry Hudman
Premises: Kennel Care Veterinary Hospital

The complainant leads off by stating that she believes Hudman lied to her; she states that she also believes that once he received the necropsy report on her dead dog, he decided to "stick with Aria Wolf" and remove her name from all the records. She states that she repeatedly followed up and was finally told by email that they would no longer talk to her. Several concerns are also broached about a hidden x-ray report and the business or professional relationship between Hudman and Wolf relating to possible prescribing of medications; she says that Hudman is giving Wolf medications to hand out to dogs even though she's not a vet.

Hudman's response, rather unusually, is written to us, the public; apparently he's read the Veterinary Practice Act and knows all about public records. He says that a woman from Texas has "filed a complaint against with me AZVMA" (one wonders if he's confused between the AzVMA and the ASVMEB or if she also filed one there?). He states that she is a co-breeder with a longtime established Kennel Care client, Aria Wolf, and that both a French Bulldog and a Chihuahua died while entrusted to Wolf for breeding purposes. Some of the dead dogs were sent to Midwestern for necropsy and found toxemia in one case and canine herpes in the other. He states that aside from consulting on breeding dates they had no involvement with the care of one of the dogs post-breeding.

This was an Investigative Division report with no Investigative Committee hearing. Hudman gets off without a scratch, but at the June 2020 meeting the board referred case C-20-10 regarding Aria Wolf, unlicensed practitioner, to the county attorney and the state attorney general.
