A dog dies in yet another dental, a story in three parts: Part II

Complaint: Complaint 18-78
Respondent: Elaine McCollum
Premises: Chino Valley Animal Hospital
Related: 18-77, 18-79

This follows from complaint 18-77. This relates specifically to McCollum, the veterinarian who actually did the dental and was there when the dog died.

McCollum begins by referencing Mancino and Kahan's responses in 18-77 and 18-79 respectively. She confirms that she was involved in the dental procedure but states her belief that Mancino had informed the complainants he would not be performing the procedure. She also states that the dog went into cardiac arrest about 20 minutes into the procedure and failed to revive despite interventions. She concludes by stating that she had done these procedures hundreds of times and that there were no reasons to be concerned about this particular dog; abnormal results in the blood work were minor and expected for a dog living at that altitude.

The Investigative Committee appears to have copied verbatim the discussion from 18-77.
