A dog dies in yet another dental, a story in three parts: Part III

Complaint: Complaint 18-79
Respondent: Michael Kahan
Premises: Chino Valley Animal Hospital
Related: 18-77, 18-78

This follows from complaint 18-79. This relates specifically to Kahan, the responsible veterinarian for the premises.

Kahan begins by stating that he confirmed with Mancino that the complainants were aware he would not be there the day of the dental. He then details how the dog came in and was given to a vet tech and then left his premises in a cardboard casket. He also says that he called the complainant after the death and spoke with her, and that he felt she was appreciative of the call; in his own words, "I still thought that we were going to keep Mrs. Lowther as a client." He says that in contrast to the complainant saying they were uncaring, he spoke with the vet tech and said that they gave out hugs. He also notes that McCollum has been using the anesthetic protocol successfully for some time after attending a continuing education course.

The Investigative Committee appears to have copied verbatim the discussion from 18-77.
