The complaint actually consists of two complaints that pertain to the veterinarians at the clinic. The first complaint details the outcome of a dental. The complainant says that over two years ago her dog had a dental at the clinic and says she was told that dental cement was used to hold in one of the front teeth. At the more recent dental she noted that the tooth's position was causing the dog problems. She says at the first dental Kelly Hehn had told her that dental cement was used but that Lori Hehn said it wasn't. The second incident occurred when her dog was brought to Lori Hehn for back pain and was given several medications. A week later the complainant came home and found what she describes as diarrhea, tissue, and pools of blood. She called the hospital and was told they were too busy, but eventually was able to speak with Lori Hehn, who the complainant says was too distracted to listen to her. She says that the conversation deteriorated into a shouting match. She states that follow up care for her dog showed no signs of tumors, parasites, or other issues, and she believes the combination of muscle relaxants, pain medications, and antibiotics led to the bleeding.
Kelly Hehn says that she did not know there were any complaints about the dental she performed. She clarifies that she uses an antibiotic gel as part of her dentals.
The Investigative Committee said the matter was so clear-cut they did not need to speak to Kelly Hehn. They also noted the confusion between dental gel and dental cement and commented that no concerns were mentioned during subsequent visits.
