This complaint follows on from 20-120 and concerns Moezzi, who apparently saw the cat the second day.
Moezzi says that he examined the cat and also found the cat bright, alert, and responsive aside from discharge from the eyes and nose. He says that he was told the cat's diarrhea had improved but that the complainant was concerned about the cat's respiratory health and lack of appetite. He allegedly told her that some of this could be the result of a UTI and other factors, recommending tests that were turned down for financial reasons. He says that he told her if the cat got worse that hospitalization would be recommended as it was on the prior visit (though reading the response on 20-120 it appeared that the complainant initially broached the subject of overnight hospitalization?). He says he also told her that sometimes kittens just "fail to thrive." He says that he never saw the cat again and that the complainant never contacted the hospital to report that the cat had gotten worse. They eventually received a call telling them the cat was dead. (Note that Moezzi's description of the cat doesn't seem to match up with the complainant's report the cat was almost dead on discharge for this second visit.)
The Investigative Committee said that they found no violations of the Veterinary Practice Act.
You'll remember Moezzi back from when he worked at another specialty and referral center in 20-24.
