Respondent: | Sandy Landry |
Premises: | BluePearl Peoria |
Related: | 20-73, 20-74 |
This complaint follows from 20-73 and pertains to Landry's involvement. Landry is the responsible veterinarian for BluePearl Peoria as well as the emergency service head.
Landry's response is less than a page. In one spot she actually refers to herself in the third person ("Sandy Landry"). She says that she had no involvement in the dog's care. She also says that she attempted to call the complainant to speak with him but that they had a difficult time getting in touch. She also says that he was difficult to talk to because he was aggressive and hostile. She also states that BluePearl corporate called Astin Deem, the practice manager, once a case was opened with PLIT (the AVMA's liability insurance).
The Investigative Committee's discussion here is just sad. They reiterated their concern that it took an hour and a half for the surgery to begin once Majoue had arrived, yet they state that perhaps it was just the result of cleaning up from multiple bouts of diarrhea. They said they were worried about a practice advertising surgery not having a surgeon. They also said that they had concerns about the haphazard nature of the practice but that they couldn't find any specific violation that would capture their concerns. Landry walks.
