Another failure on a continuing investigation to find the person who authorized a magic refill

Complaint: Complaint 21-35
Respondent: Courtney Pike
Premises: Pet Doctor Tucson
Related: 21-19, 21-93

The complainant follows from 21-19. In that complaint, Sherif Louis was accused of giving a refill prescription with a doubled dose without examining the cat; the cat later died but the investigators were more concerned about the lack of a veterinarian getting their cut. It turns out he had quit his job so suspicion fell on Courtney Pike.

Pike says that Louis resigned abruptly from his job and she took over his patients. She also says the complainant never mentioned any concerns about the cat on refills but that she only permitted a refill at the half-tablet dose, not the full-tablet dose. She also says she made notes in the records saying the patient needed to come in for an exam and some blood work; she didn't know the medication had been doubled until she got the complaint in the mail. She blames Louis, citing her hospital manager, Romy Philips, that Louis had been talking to the complainant and authorized the increase without their knowledge.

The Investigative Committee had no discussion and voted to dismiss. The Board did so as well. After this, it's all riding on 21-93 and the investigation into Pet Doctor Tucson's responsible veterinarian, L. Harrison Nelson. Will we find out what happened? Tune in same vet-time, same vet-channel!
