The complainant mentions a variety of issues perhaps best experienced by reading the complaint. One concern appears to be that there was a discrepancy with receiving x-rays from another clinic. Another concern appears to relate to obtaining antibiotics for her cat, which she believes died from pneumonia potentially from not receiving the antibiotics. She also says the cat in question went through a great deal of stress in the past and had a hyperthyroid condition treated with radiation. She believes that the cat also experienced additional problems from a house they lived in together and that the cat also had other problems after a fellow cat died because of another veterinarian. She states that her cat never ate or drank again after leaving Trueba's facility, along with other mentions about a holistic antiviral, a lymph detox, and something about a shrinking tumor. She states that her family, pets included, were exposed to Valley Fever as a result of illegal harassment in the toxic environment of her residence. She believes that the alleged upper respiratory infection came from another facility.
Trueba's response states that he's seen the cat in question twice. The cat had a history of Valley Fever, a possible growth on the anus, and an additional tumor. He describes some of the same health problems that seem to be referenced by the complainant, including an eye infection. He says that he also recommended referrals to Klein and Merrideth, other veterinarians in the area. He also states that an antibiotic was in fact offered but that the complainant never came to pick it up. He devotes the remaining portion of the response to his evaluation of the complainant, stating that she talks a lot and is full of conspiracy theories. He goes on to diagnose her with mental illness. "At first I thought that she was demented because she is elderly. But I really think that she is bipolar and this is manic behavior. Obviously, her stream of consciousness made me worry that I would be the next one complained about."
The Investigative Committee doesn't appear to have wanted to pick through this one: "The Committee discussed that after reviewing all the case file materials and obtaining testimony, they determined Respondent handled the case appropriately." I suspect that the underlying rationale is that if the complainant comes across as bonkers, anything she says can be safely ignored.
