A very sick cat allegedly has a peculiar and confusing set of referral experiences before dying: Part II

Complaint: Complaint 21-153
Respondent: Carly Blom
Premises: VetMed
Related: 21-151, 21-152, 21-154

This complaint follows directly from 21-152; the complaint itself appears to be the same as the first page from 21-152 except that it pertains to Blom.

Blom's writeup broadly reports on the activities of fellow VetMed employees Burns (from the prior complaint) and Bedell (you'll meet him soon, but oddly not because of this). She says the cat was admitted by Burns but the complainants didn't really even want to do that for financial reasons; when Burns took off Bedell took over. She says the cat didn't get his medications in hospital (a concern of the complainant's) because she never brought them in and declined to go get them and bring them in for them; she says that the complainant knew this and took the cat home to give the medications instead. Based on Blom's writeup it seems that her only role in all this was to talk to the complainant (or at least the owner) on the phone. She says that she learned about the cat's death later when the owner left a message at VetMed thanking everyone. She also goes over some of the concerns the complaiant had; she also mentions basophils are rare in the cat (perhaps this is the zero mentioned in the complaint?). We're also told the cat had a lot of problems but tolerated the fluids well. She says we don't know why the cat died because there was no necropsy.

The Investigative Committee discussion is basically the same as before. They simply state the complainant turned down additional diagnostics (that's not how it reads from the complaint) and that the care VetMed did provide was appropriate. They also said the cat was old and nobody did a necropsy to determine why the cat died.

Bedell, while not named in this series of complaint, is interestingly the target of the next complaint after this group. In 21-155 someone takes their dog with heart disease to Bedell and the dog gets sent home to die; the complainant basically says that in addition to being a poor veterinarian he's basically just not a very good person.
